PRASEG are delighted to announce a significant change in leadership after an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on 19th December 2023

Alan Brown MP of the Scottish National Party (SNP) has been elected as the new Chair, succeeding Bim Afolami MP, who stepped down in November 2023 upon assuming the role of Economic Secretary to the Treasury. Accompanying Alan Brown, we are pleased to welcome Alex Sobel MP from the Labour Party, who has been appointed as Co-Chair.

The transition in leadership underscores PRASEG's commitment to cross-party collaboration in championing renewable and sustainable energy solutions. Alan Brown MP, who served as the Vice Chair prior to this appointment and Alex Sobel, who is also Chair of the Net Zero APPG together will bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the cause.

Upon his election, Alan Brown MP, "It is an honour to be appointed chair of PRASEG, an organisation that has been promoting the development of renewable energy on a cross-party basis since its inception. PRASEG is a widely respected body that has undertaken fantastic work over the years."

His journey in public service, beginning as a local councillor in 2007, has been marked by a commitment to community development and environmental stewardship.
